The Thumb Area Football and Cheerleading League has offered Football since 2003. We do this with safety and development at the forefront our planning with volunteers who are trained and have access to ongoing training through USA Football and other means regarding the game of football. Flag and Tackle Bar were added in 2021. The divisions are defined as Pre K Flag, Freshman (140lb max, 90lb ball carrier weight) Tackle Bar, Junior Varsity (170lb max, 120lb ball carrier weight), Varsity (unlimited weight, 140lb ball carrier weight, 200 + pounds have to play offensive line only). TAFL will provide every athlete an environment in which a child can achieve athletic success which in turn lays a foundation of success in life as well. Success is only achieved when 100% of effort is given to the team from our coaches and our athletes in all practices and performances. Introducing football in safe and fun environment at an early age encourages our youth to learn not only the fundamentals of football and teamwork, but also discipline, cooperation and sportsmanship.
